Back in the day that’s all you needed.

Also when I was a teenager my neighbor hadn’t a 4 eyed Celica that was Turbo charged, idk if that was fastory or not, but the sounds it made were very exciting.

My 79 Volvo had 108 hp...but 125 tee Q's. Therefore it was just as good....I think.

I remember nation wide 55 mph speed limits. It doesn’t mean that everyone drove 55 on the interstates but overall the speeds were much lower and 110 HP in a compact coupe was plenty. It was rare back then to go 70-75 much less 80-85, which is common place today.
